Restoration with Purpose: DGSL in Colchester

My journey began with a dislike for dirty or worn-out shoes. I found joy in cleaning and restoring my trainers. Taking pride in their appearance brought me happiness. Soon, friends and family began asking me to restore their shoes. I was always happy to help.

What started as a part-time endeavor eventually grew beyond my garden shed. Thanks to community support and encouragement from my daughter, I was able to open my shop, DGSL. Located in the heart of Colchester High Street. Here, I offer professional trainer cleaning, shoe restoration, and handbag repair services. Ultimately, my goal is to help people maintain their beloved items instead of replacing them.

Since launching DGSL.UK, we expanded our services significantly. We now clean and restore trainers, shoes, boots, high heels, and handbags. I also restore football boots. I believe in promoting a sustainable lifestyle and minimizing the throwaway culture.

Each restoration is an opportunity to give items a second chance. My work has caught the attention of local celebrities. I’ve had the privilege of customizing a skateboard for Keith Lemon. I’ve also discussed my passion with Robbie Williams, Ayda Field, and Fleur East.

I’m proud to create a unique space in Colchester. Everyone can come in and witness the magic of restoration firsthand. Whether providing bespoke designs or restoring favorite trainers, my goal is to inspire others. Together, we can make a conscious choice to repair, restore, and reduce waste—one pair of shoes at a time.
